Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: Paul Williams

The 8th episode of Daft Punk’s The Collaborator series features American song writer Paul Williams. In this episode Paul Williams talks about the importance of being anonymous and … well, he was kinda all over the place to be honest. Nonetheless, it was an excellent insight to the making of this year’s most anticipated album.

Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: DJ Falcon

I’ve been out of town in the past few days, therefore I’m a bit behind on this. Anyhow, here’s the 7th episodes of Daft Punk’s documentary of The Collaborators Series. This time around they have DJ Falcon to talk about the art of sampling and a bit history of the French Sound. There’s also short clips of Daft Punk back in the days when they were human. I can’t wait for May 20th.

Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: Chilly Gonzales

The sixth episode of Random Access Memories | The Collaborator features pianist Chilly Gonzales. In this episode Gonzales talks about how he was brought in to the project to create a bridge on a track that has key switches in the middle. He also talks about he importance of harmony and how badly under used it is in pop music. This episode is another excellent behind the scene look to this highly anticipated album.

Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: Panda Bear

Here’s the 5th episode to Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories ‘The Collaborator’ series. This time around we get to sit dow with Animal Collective’s drummer The Panda Bear. In here he talks about how instead of sampling old records, they sample new live music in the old way, then turn it into an old sounding song that sounds modern (yes, it does sounds like these two sentences contradict each other). Another interesting insight to the making of this highly anticipated album.
