Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2

Native Instruments recently announced their newest controller, the Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2. It looks pretty slick with the touchstrip that works similar with Pioneer’s CDJ-2000 Nexus strip. It’s gonna be out on August 1st and priced at $229.

Traktor Kontrol Z1

Native Instruments just announced their latest gadget, an ultra portable 2 channel mixer for Traktor DJ and Traktor Pro. Basically it’s a 2 channel mixer with built in sound card that is compatible for both your iOS devices and your laptop. I guess it you have the Traktor Kontrol X1 & F1 + Z1 you noww have a somewhat modular system for your digital DJ needs (in laptop at least). Anyway, more detail to follow. In the meantime, check out the video teaser.

Traktor for iPad

The time has come when you could actually DJ only with iPad. At least that’s what Native Instruments promised with what I presumed to be their soon to be released Traktor apps. IT appeared to be a full blown DJ software as opposed to just controller. This teaser got me pretty excited though. As a ig time user of TouchOSC, I’m already used to interfacing with touchscreen. The prospect of DJing only with iPad is definitely something that I look forward to. No more carrying laptop. Looking forward to this exciting app.

Update:
Traktor DJ is out now on iTunes App Store and it’s $19.99. It requires minimum iPad 2 or later. Buy it here.

I’ve been planning to add new tutorial section for this blog. Finally I made my first one. Hopefully this will become regular series.

Closer look into Traktor Pro 2.5 & Kontrol F1

Native Instruments recently reveal more information on their much talked about Traktor Kontrol F1. The controller is cool and all but since I’m a TouchOSC avid user, I’m not overtly excited with is since I feel that I can me the same thing for my iPad. I’m more excited with the actual Traktor Pro 2.5 update. The good news is if you’re a Traktor Pro 2 user then this update is free.

I’m definitely excited with the new Remix Decks which is basically a 4 x 4 sample slots that can store up to 64 samples. So it’s like a mini ableton clip trigger. For more complete information just head to Native Intruments site.

Oh one last thing, The F1 and TP 2.5 will be out in May 30th.
