After almost 3 years of silence, EGRV is back with a pair of new tracks. If you’re expecting the whole in your face wall of sound style that you found in their last effort “Power On Power Off” then you will be slightly disappointed. The thing about these boys is they love being unpredictable. If you follow these boys from back in the day, they have always been consistent in term of releasing materials that constantly keeps you guessing. This release is no different. What you get is a pair of bouncy tech/deep house tracks along the line of stuff being release on Jesse Rose’s Made To Play or Claude Von Stroke’s Dirty Bird. So it’s a whole different direction from the EGRV that we’re familiar with. ‘Just Bounce’ is chugging along with its rolling bassline before breaking down (literally) into a mess of cut up drum breaks. Berdansa which means Dancing is just that! A proper dance number with some weirdo sounding synths elements sprinkled all over the place. In conclusion, this new release is not what we expect from EGRV but it’s a good new direction. Looking forward to hear more stuff like this (even though with these boys, you’ll never know what you’ll get next!).
Here’s a minor update to my free TouchOSC template the EGRV Control. The update is for better workflow and visual feedback improvement. Several bugs improvement dealing with the switch to Traktor 2.6. Native Instruments has yet to open remix deck for anything other than the Kontrol F1. Right now, it only works like the old sample decks. Functionalty is limited to the first row only and very rudimentary.

Here’s an interview that I had with FREE! Magazine from couple days ago. Te one below is its the English translation. You can read the original interview in Indonesia HERE.
Today, I found my self back in the studio with my favorite female rapper Yacko working on a brand new song for her upcoming album. The track is yet to be titled but its about Tattoos nd Graffiti. At least thats the theme. The track itself starts out as crunk that swith to drumstep before eventually turning into a full blown drum & bass. I hope I never have to answer a question about what genre this track is. I will have a hard time deciding the genre. The recording session went well and only took 2 hours. Yacko is done with her part. Now, It’s my turn to finish it up.
There’s a small write up about Filthy Rich, my collaboration with Yacko in the 1st edition of FREE! Music Department magazine. To read it, just head to their website at http://digital.freemagz.com/2012/fmd01/

As I promised last week on my twitter, I’m uploading a small update to my EGRV Control. It’s a minor update that concentrate more in improving workflow while mixing. I also added more functionality to the Gate/Delay & LFO/Flange Buttons that will allow you to change value of those buttons on the fly. There are few more changes and improvement that you can find below. Lemme know what you think. Have fun! In the meantime I’m working on new template that utilize jog wheels to make it even more fun.
